Phoenix Dance Theatre
£15.00 Full price & £12.00 Concessions
Wed 27 to Sat 30 September 2017
Show Overview

The acclaimed Phoenix Dance Theatre, led by Artistic Director and Yorkshire Woman of the Year Sharon Watson, are back for their seventh annual home performance to champion the exceptional female talent within the company.

Expect to see a vibrant showcase of dance celebrating the work of female choreographers. Highlights include Calyx, a first commission for company dancer Sandrine Monin, and a never before seen excerpt from the research and development of Windrush, a major new piece by Sharon Watson. Windrush will premiere in 2018 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the arrival of SS Windrush that brought the first wave of Caribbean migrants to Britain.

Paired with an original solo by dancer Carmen Vazquez Marfil, a tongue-in-cheek collaboration between Rehearsal Director Tracy Tinker and dancer Vanessa Vince-Pang set in the audition room, and a new piece choreographed by Vince-Pang for the rising stars of the Phoenix Youth Academy, this year’s Phoenix at Home promises to be a thrilling evening of dance.
