Hiring the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre

Our 230 seat Studio Theatre is an exceptional venue not just for performances but also for conferences and other events.

It is a flexible space with retractable seating and can be divided into two smaller but still sizeable studio spaces, perfect for the smaller conference or the more intimate lecture or recital. Fully opened the space becomes the largest dance studio in Europe.

Large windows run the length of the room and allow natural light to flood in during the day as well as providing glimpses of the activities inside for passers by. For extra inspiration etched into the glass is a stunning zoetrope of images and dancers created by artist Joe Fairfax. The space also has blackout blinds if required meaning any lighting effects won’t be lost and privacy is guaranteed.

Since opening we have seen a variety of professional and amateur theatrical performances being held in the theatre, as well as a range of events including Gok Wan’s Fashion Fix and conferences for the likes of the Bank of England and NHS.

Technical support and event organisation

The adjoining control room has superb technical facilities providing lighting and sound designed to impress. Our experienced technical staff, drawn from the same team who create Northern Ballet's stunning performances on tour, will work with you to ensure your event delivers the effect you require.

Catering

We can offer a range of catering options and we use carefully selected local suppliers to ensure our food is of the highest quality. We will work with you to ensure the catering for your event, no matter how large or small, meets your budget and the requirements of you, your clients and your guests.

Add some dance to your day!

Your guests can also enjoy a fascinating insight into the life of a world-renowned touring ballet company. Have a talk from Northern Ballet’s artistic, technical or wardrobe departments or, when they're at home, watch Northern Ballet dancers in rehearsals. If you’re feeling more adventurous, a dance workshop or energiser session are perfect ice-breaking or team building activities.

Hire fees

Performance		£800 per day	£3,200 per week
Technical support		£20 per hour	£150 per day
Get in (2 hours evening before 7-9pm)			£150
A minimum of one technician is compulsory at a cost of £150 per day(or £20 per hour) when using the performance space. Additional technicians are available at an extra cost.
Conference		£650 per day	£2,600 per week
Conference prices are inclusive of technical support. Prices include the setting up and operation of the AV equipment. Further costs may be incurred for extra IT support.
Studio 1 or 2	£50 per hour	£300 per day	£1,250 per week
