About us

The Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre is located in Leeds on Quarry Hill, next to BBC Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Leeds College of Music. The theatre is inside the stunning home of Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre, but our programme is not all dance. We offer live music, theatre and comedy. Of course you can see dance too – there’s regular performances from Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre, alongside a host of other dance artists.

In 2013 we're looking forward to welcoming back Ballet Black and Ballet Central. You can also see a series of contemporary dance performances from the likes of Joss Arnott Dance and Levantes Dance Theatre. Northern Ballet will perform a new mixed programme of short dances, the only place in the UK you will see this programme.

There's an electric selection of music too with the continuation of our ensemble concerts from Northern Ballet Sinfonia - a perfect opportunity to see Northern Ballet's musicians take centre stage.

Also, as we’re in a fantastic building, we have great facilities to make your visit that bit more enjoyable. We have a café bar where you can grab a drink or really make a night of it with a pre-theatre meal.
